Fossilized Thuja Twig in Baltic Amber — Lithuania, Eocene (~40 Million years old)
A single sprig of Thuja conifer, its overlapping scale-leaves pressed into flattened sprays, lies suspended in clear golden succinite. The twig branches at the top of the piece, while a dense cloud of fine plant debris and tiny gas bubbles drifts through the surrounding resin — a snapshot of forest litter caught mid-fall in fresh amber.
Botanical inclusions of this clarity are considerably rarer than insect entrapments, making this a standout piece for paleobotanical collectors.
One-of-a-kind fossil specimen.
